I know that like me parents of SEND children are feeling surveyed out at this time!!! Not a week goes by without a survey or consultation request arriving in my inbox. Please do not swipe this into junk!!
Here is why! - We need you!
We are in the process of reviewing the therapy provision of Physiotherapy Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy, here in Kent and Medway. To do this we want to hear from as many parents as possible about your experiences, be they good or bad. We need to know what is working and what is not to make the changes that will improve the experience of families so that we can commission services that work for you.
I know that children often have therapy at school which is not always close to home and one child’s experience can be different to another’s. This is because there are different providers working across the county. We need families’ experiences to create an accurate picture of the situation across the whole of Kent and Medway. I can only collect this information with your help.
We have tried to keep the survey as short as possible so it can be completed as quickly, please if you manage to get five minutes, (I know how hard that can be!), fill it in and pass it on through your parent networks.
There will be more opportunities to contribute to this review as it progresses. If you would like to be involved or would like feedback on the review’s findings, please include your contact details when completing the survey.
Thank you for your time.

Rowhill School is inviting staff and pupils to wear RED to raise awareness against racism on Friday 20th October.

This event is part of the Kent and Medway Family Network that sits within the designated keyworker service. We aim to strengthen the support available to group facilitators and in turn strengthen the peer support available to families. It is on this weekend and I am trying to drum up some more interest.

The Kent School Health and School Aged Immunisation (SAIS) Services are writing to you to explain the process that we are adhering to in regards to secure emails. As you are aware, the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR state that:
"personal data shall be processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures"
Our Kent School Health and SAIS colleagues use NHS.net email addresses which means emails are encrypted when sent. However, for the information to remain secure in transit and when it reaches its destination, it needs to be sent to a secure email address. NHS.net have offered a solution to enable those without secure emails (such as schools and parents) to securely receive confidential information. The system is called Egress and is free to use. Parents and young people are able to opt out of using an egress account, but professionals are not able to opt out of using a secure email exchange with us.
Therefore from 6th June 2022, all correspondence which contains sensitive or identifiable data will be sent securely. In order to read the emails you and your colleagues will need to create an egress account.

To set up an Egress account please go to: https://switch.egress.com/ui/registration/accountcreate.aspx
