Violence Against Women and Girls
Published 20/11/25On behalf of Kent Police, I would like to invite you to a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Community Event on Monday 1 December 2025 from 10am to 12pm or Tuesday 2 December from 6pm to 8pm.
This event will be hosted online via Microsoft Teams and will be an opportunity to find out more about what Kent Police and partners have done to make your community safer for women and girls. You will also be able to ask questions of the local teams delivering in your area.
This event has been shaped from the feedback at previous events and will focus on progress against the VAWG strategy; 2025 performance data and what initiatives have been undertaken across the force to tackle VAWG this year.
N.B Both events will have the same content, we host them at different times to enable more people to attend. The event has live transcription and people can ask questions online or submit them in advance when booking.

Online Mental Health and Wellbeing Support for young people

Over the coming weeks your child may mention they have been made aware in school of a service called Kooth.com. Commissioned by Kent & Medway NHS Kent Integrated Care Board, Kooth.com is an online counselling, advice and support service for young people aged 10-25 within the local area. It provides a safe, secure means of accessing help from a professional team of counsellors. Kooth works with schools and professionals across over 90% of the UK.
Kooth is free to access via any internet-connected tablet, computer or smartphone. There are no waiting lists or thresholds to meet and a referral from a medical professional is not needed. Your child can join Kooth anonymously simply by visiting www.kooth.com.Kooth offers young people a range and choice of support options under one digital roof.
It has services that are accessible 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This includes one to one text based sessions with experienced counsellors and wellbeing practitioners run from midday to 10pm on weekdays, and from 6 -10pm at the weekend. Appointments can be booked in advance or accessed via a drop-in text-based chat. Kooth also provides a fully safeguarded and pre-moderated community with a library of peer and professional created articles. And there are discussion forums too. All content is pre-moderated and age appropriate.
Kooth covers many topics on the website including relationships, LGBTQIA+, exam stress, anxiety, eating difficulties, self harm, suicidal thoughts, body image, social media, bullying and family worries. All of these subjects affecting young peoples’ mental health are presenting issues that Kooth and other mental health providers see from all age groups. Kooth is commissioned by the NHS and clinically approved for children from the age of 10, and is the only digital mental health provider to hold a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) accreditation across the UK.

Published 18/06/25Please be aware that tomorrow’s (19th June) first transition day is going to be extremely busy and the Heads of Primary & Secondary will be around briefly to address any worries or concerns you may have.
We would therefore, like to invite our current year 6 parents/carers and any new parent/carers to attend on the final transition day: Thursday 10th July at 9.30am for approx. 1hour to formally meet the Heads of Primary & Secondary, offer a chance to familiarise parents/carers with the school environment, connect with other families and discuss any questions or concerns.
